He quietens me:
My quick tongue,
my raging thoughts,
my unlawful desires and foul temper;
My sharp words,
my acts of contempt,
my vain thoughts and overtalkativness.
my gossiping twitter and my incessant moans.
He quiets me and leads me to peaceful pastures.
He stills me, He anoints my head
and fills my cup till it overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever?
He quietens me.
And when "I" stands back up and shouts even louder,
He reaches out and shows me His power.
His love and understanding, His enduring love causes me to stop, be still and look above.
He quietens me.
